Knapp 26 Jahre ist es her, dass James Skelly zusammen mit Freunden aus seiner Nachbarschaft The Coral gründete.
Nach “The Curse Of Love” (2014) und “Distance Inbetween” (2016) veröffentlichte die Band 2018 mit “Move Through The Dawn” (2018) ihr mittlerweile neuntes Studioalbum.
Im MusikBlog Interview verriet Keyboarder und Multiinstrumentalist Nick Power, dass, “obwohl [er] Musik mit politischen oder gesellschaftskritischen Inhalten gerne mag”, die neue Platte keine Reaktion auf die angespannte politische Lage in Großbritannien und dem Rest der Welt sei, denn “so funktioniere die Band nicht”.
Nun veröffentlichten The Coral ein neues Album, das auf den Namen “Lockdown Sessions” (2020) hört.
Das Werk besteht zum einen aus Coverversionen, die kürzlich während der Ausgangsperre entstanden sind und zum anderen aus allen Akustiksongs, die im Laufe ihrer Musikkarriere zustande kamen.
Außerdem umfasst “Lockdown Sessions” die drei bisher unveröffentlichten Tracks “One Road”, “Rhapsody” und “Just Like Tears In The Morning”.
